Analysis of Mass Spectrometry Outputs

The Gas Analysis Equipment that does Mass Spectrometry provides some outputs, and to analyze and interpret these outputs some things are must to be known.
There are some meanings and characteristics attached to each of the substances in the process under conditions which are controlled. The technicians that perform these activities have the skills to identify the specimen by the help of comparison of mass spectrum of known compounds. The intensities of the mass spectrum which are relative can be analyzed quantitatively. There is a peak that indicates the non fragmented molecules present in the specimen. This peak is basically known as the Parent Mass.

As there are different pieces of a puzzle, in the same way this parent mass peak and other peaks are compared to each other to find out other particles. The structure of the molecules is indicated with the help of different peaks and the parent mass peak defines the mass of these molecules. The most difficult part of this Mass Spectrum Analysis is that the peaks are sometimes identical and to differentiate between the parent mass and molecules becomes very difficult. The technicians usually have the ability to specify the parent mass and the molecules.
